Beyond The Lens Photography bio picture

Visual Artist Unleashed

I am a mother, a wife, a friend, and a photographer.  Photography is the part of my life that has brought me here:

Welcome to my blog.  Here you can find my most recent work along with other tidbits from life's adventures.  I have had a camera in my hand since my first son was born 12 years ago.  Since then, what was a hobby, has flourished into an obsession and a career.  I find my passion for photography grows everyday.  Whether it is something new to learn, a new friend to make, or a new place to explore.  Photography challenges me, and allows me a creative outlet all at the same time.  So I welcome you to look around and get to know me a bit, feedback and conversation are always appreciated.  And check back often for new posts and stories!!!

Jill and Nick; Wedding in Connecticut

I got to second shot again this weekend for Eric Langlois from Raw Photo Design. Jill and Nick are one of the sweetest couples I have ever met. The kind of couple that you just know are going to have a long lasting, and strong relationship. I was honored to be a part of this significant time in their lives. They also were super fun and into trying anything, so I really got to watch Eric strut his stuff and get completely out of the box. As a photographer it is couples like this that make it all worth while. I just wanted to add…..that I could not get enough of the kids in the wedding party! These little ones were so cute, sweet, and bursting at the seams with energy. I followed them around all night. Thanks Jill, Nick, and Eric for a great experience!

Ohhh…and Eric putting the dress in a tree…INSANE!

Meg and Jay; Wedding in Connecticut

I had the distinct pleasure of watching Eric Langlios from Raw Photo Design in action this weekend. I got to second shoot for Meg and Jay’s wedding and I had such a blast! The bride, groom, and the wedding party were hilarious and it just added to the fun. Here are a few of my favorite shots…

This is the ring bearer who refused to walk down the isle! He was so funny to watch…
There was a bar across from the church…and hey, everyone needs a drink once in a while!

The groom outside the church…
And some ring shots…ohhh wait, that’s Eric taking his ring shot……
This ring shot was totally Eric’s doing….
A ring shot with one of the engagement shots that Eric took….
And….cake…..

April 21, 2008 - 4:40 am raw photo design - awesome work as always danielle. I love the shot of jay at the bar. Did you get behind the bar for the shot? Or were you playing bartender and then decided to grab a quick photo of Jay?

I finally cut Noah’s Hair….Family photography

For those of you who are around Noah a lot……for some reason I was really struggling with cutting his hair. Don’t ask me why, and I don’t think I really realized that it was an issue until I started looking at pictures of him and he looked so “unkept”. To be perfectly honest I thought the crazy hair fit his personality sooooo well! He is a rebellious, headstrong, independent toddler that will stop at nothing to have things his way. Now that his hair is a bit more presentable, I am appreciating how much of a sweet little man he is! So I’m not going to go on anymore about the hair cut…but I did finally cut the lovely locks! Here are some pictures of him playing outside!

The first one is of him doing this Neanderthal thing he does by showing how big his belly is. He doesn’t do it on demand…just whenever he feels like it.

This is him in the hammock.
Just a random shot!

And him dipping in for a closer look of what is popping in the forest!

April 24, 2008 - 5:13 am Joe's goin' fishing - Oh boy, Noah totally in his element, he is always so happy outside and you captured it. My favorite is probably the last one here, or maybe the first one, they are all good. Great job baby!! They all look so natural for him, and we know that is hard to catch when he knows you have a camera.

April 22, 2008 - 12:47 pm Anonymous - Golly Day he is getting HUGE!!!! I thought all along that his hair was cut harrr harr hardy har har!!

April 20, 2008 - 8:27 pm Robert J. Trenske - Hey Danielle, these are fun shots. It was great talking to you for a little while at the PUG last week. Hope to talk to you soon!

Kirk and Tabitha; Wedding in Negril, Jamaica

I have been knee deep in the editing process of these photos and it occurred to me that I haven’t posted on my blog in a while….so…lucky for you guys I decided to share a few more shots from the Jamaican Wedding of Kirk and Tabitha! They have arrived safely home after being away FOREVER!!!!! So glad to have you guys back!
I can’t take complete credit for the first shot…it was all Nolan’s idea (he’s the guy on the right)
So in order it is…
Kent, Tabitha, Inna, Rich, Kirk, and Nolan

This is Nolan and Inna, and it seems to me they may be next in line for a wedding photographer consult…these two were hot and heavy the whole time I was there….
I did some “tea staining” on this shot. i just love the faded effect.
My eyes welled up right after I took this shot. Tabitha looked up at me and asked “How do I look?” so I showed her this shot and was like…”You look amazing!”
This was my “Alight now everyone do something crazy” shot…yeah that’s Nolan being superman apparently….

April 18, 2008 - 8:42 am nikki nicole photography - the lighting is amazing!!!! you def rocked this wedding!

April 18, 2008 - 6:18 am Beyond The Lens Photography - Of course I did! My husband is a bit of a Rum connoisseur so I had to bring him back a variety!

April 17, 2008 - 9:34 pm Eric Foley - Did you bring back any Jamaican Rum???????

April 17, 2008 - 12:35 pm Beyond The Lens Photography - Hey they posed for the camera so it was all fair game....wait...you have man boobs? Does Amber know???

April 17, 2008 - 11:36 am raw photo design - Awesome shots dude...is she lickin' his ear in that one "piggy-back" shot? ewwwww..... Oh, and i would totally kill you if you posted shots of my man boobs, pasty white back, and hairy shoulders in a picture on your blog. :)

April 16, 2008 - 8:19 am Joe's goin' fishing - Another great post baby. All the photos look great, I especially like the pool bar one and the crazy group photo. I like the pool bar one because the color is awesome. The crazy group picture is like trying to analyze "The Last Supper", what the hell is everyone doing and thinking, great capture! Nolan can't fly because Kirk's mom is holding him back, Kirk smelling the flowers while Tab looks in his ear for...and the list goes on.

April 16, 2008 - 7:55 am Anonymous - I likey the first picture of the bar in the ocean - kinda makes me want to do that with the bathtub har harrr. The other shot I really likey is the hammock its very sweet!!!!

April 16, 2008 - 5:45 am Beyond The Lens Photography - Awwww you guys are so sweet!!! I had a blast just being there and it was so cool to actually get to see two of my closest friends take vows!

April 16, 2008 - 5:39 am Kirk - Danielle - the photos rock. What is the most amazing quality of the work that you have done is not the snap shots, the pictures, the editing, or the time (although all incredible, impressive, and more than we ever could have expected) - but your ability to capture the moment. It is a wonderful thing to be able to look at the pictures and remember (relive may be a better word) the moment, emotion, and experience. Thank you more than I can express.

April 16, 2008 - 5:15 am Tabnkirk - Danielle, great job once again! I think the Kent is pretty funny in the, "Do something crazy shot" because he did nothing and he actually looks sober, which was unique!

April 16, 2008 - 3:32 am Jacob Bergmeier - I miss those pool bar stools! They had them in our pool in Mexico.... ahhh
