Beyond The Lens Photography bio picture

Visual Artist Unleashed

I am a mother, a wife, a friend, and a photographer.  Photography is the part of my life that has brought me here:

Welcome to my blog.  Here you can find my most recent work along with other tidbits from life's adventures.  I have had a camera in my hand since my first son was born 12 years ago.  Since then, what was a hobby, has flourished into an obsession and a career.  I find my passion for photography grows everyday.  Whether it is something new to learn, a new friend to make, or a new place to explore.  Photography challenges me, and allows me a creative outlet all at the same time.  So I welcome you to look around and get to know me a bit, feedback and conversation are always appreciated.  And check back often for new posts and stories!!!

Lindsey and Dan; Wedding in Trumbull, Connecticut

Meet Lindsey and Dan.  They were married this past Saturday in Trumbull, CT and their reception was at Burr mansion in Fairfield, CT.
I only hope that my pictures can do justice to these two extraordinary people!  I like to think that the most important (and the best part) of my job is not only to document a couples’ wedding, but to capture the  true connection between the two.
Lindsey and Dan, I was so incredibly humbled when I initially met you, but to take part in your wedding was truly an honor.  Thank you  for the memories made and the opportunity to be part of something so real!!!!!!!
Also, I also want to give a huge thank you to Val McCormick  for helping me out on this one.  It’s always great to be in good company :)

Julie and Mike; Wedding in Bethel, Connecticut

Yes, wedding season has finally started for me and last Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing Julie and Mike’s AMAZING wedding!   There were flower girls with wings,  classic cars and lots of great vibes!  The girl’s  hair and make up were done by Wendy, Liz, and Trixie of Trixie’s Salon in Bethel.  The flowers were done by A Country Touch, also in Bethel.  And the DJ was Cloud Nine Productions out of Massachusetts.

I honestly feel so honored to of  been able to be a part of Julie and Mike’s wedding.  It was one of those celebrations where you could tell it wasn’t just two people starting their lives together, but two families expanding.   Julie and Mike both come from families with deep roots and huge hearts, and I just want to thank you all for having me and extending that love my way!

So here are a few of my favorite shots from the day.  I hope you all enjoy them :)

I hung the veil in the window at the salon to get this shot.

I thought Julie’s dress was so fitting to her personality, complete with the jewel she sewed onto it in the middle.

This is Julie sitting outside in the car waiting to enter the church.  I love that you can see the flower girls watching her in the reflection of the car.

Kissing was fair game once the priest announced they could kiss.  I think this was #3, but I loved the way Julie just kept spontaneously kissing Mike.

Here is Julie giving her thumbs up after they were announced husband and wife….SERIOUSLY!  Too funny :)

Jen and A.J Engagement Session, Harkness Memorial Park, Waterford, Connecticut

Why are Jen and A.J the coolest people on the planet?  Let me count the ways :)

1) Jen made me brownies….that’s right.  I pulled up to meet her and A.J for their session and she handed me a plate of brownies…YUM! My favorite!

2) A.J. let me keep them.  Apparently he had thought up until that very moment, that she had made them for him as a snack on the way home……nope, they’re all mine :)

3) Jen and A.J. are those kind of people that you meet and you just know they are meant for each other.  To use the words from Jerry McGuire “she completes him” lame as it may sound, it’s the truth.

So without further adu, here are some of my favorite shots that I took of them while we were at Harkness Memorial Park in Watertown, CT.
