*Warning* you have to listen to “Fire Starter” by Prodigy in order to view this post. Other wise your monitor will catch fire…true story people, don’t be a hero!!!!!
I’m going to start this post off by saying anyone who wasn’t in Carla Ten Ecky’s lighting workshop yesterday sucks! If you’r a photographer, stop what you’re doing RIGHT NOW (after looking at this post of course) and sign up for it.
Second thing: Fire thrower…Nuff said!
Thank you Carla for all of your knowledge and guidance, but mostly for putting up with me for a whole day!
Meet Sarah and Zachary….. cuteness overload right? Don’t worry, she get’s bad ass later!

P.S. big huge thank you to Sarah and Zachary for posing all day in the FREEZING cold. Another special thank you to miss Bad Ass Sarah for putting on this amazing show!
In the beginning of July I was privileged enough to be invited to the very first ever, Raw Photo Design Workshop, given by Eric Langlois of Raw Photo Design.
The day was filled with radness and über fantastic tips…..the main one being…FIND THE LIGHT! After shooting with Eric all last year, I’ve become use to his craziness and the “fly by the seat of your pants-make it work” shooting style that he possesses. Don’t just do it, do it until you kill it, and then kill it one more time for good measure. And in true Raw Photo Design fashion, Amber and Eric both killed it. Not only with Eric giving us his time, and skillz (something that he doesn’t have to do, but if you know Eric even a little, you know he’s a giver) and Amber completely rocking the camera for us (something we all know is a photographer’s dream). Lisa and Dan also completely rocked things, with their charming good looks and personalities.
It’s no secret to anyone that I completely *heart* Eric and Amber, and I could go on for days and days about how much fun I had, and the kind of people they are, but…….I guess you guys will all have to get in line for the next workshop to find out!
****Disclaimer****
There is a metric ass whack (yes that is a redneck term which means :a lot) of photo goodness here

Yesterday I woke up at 3AM and didn’t get home until 12AM all in an effort to meet the man…the myth…the legend…
John Micheal Copper. I have heard
Eric go on and on and on and on about this dude all the time. I’d seen his stuff, and of course thought he was bad ass, but none of this really hit home until Eric called me about 2 months ago and asked if I’d go to JMC’s workshop. I was in and on we went. What a blast!!!! Not only did we get to meet JMC and the Wiebners, but we got to meet lots of other photographers outside of our normal loop. The cherry on top of all of this was the mountain of info JMC provided us with. From metering, work flow, and editing tips, to marketing, packaging, and philosophy. Needless to say it was insane! Well worth the 10 hour drive!!!
So I got a few pics…but I am off to Chicago tomorrow and I don’t have the time right now to edit them all. I thought I would post this one little picture though….

I had such an enlightening and inspirational day at the workshop that Carla Ten Eyck http://www.photosbycarla.com/ and Steve Depino http://www.stevedepino.com/ provided that I don’t even know where to start. The entire day was full of knowledge, fun, and inspiration! The workshop was also very hands on, which was, to me, the best part. I met so many talented photographers, and got to watch them strut their stuff too. All in all the entire day was just sick, and for those of you that wanted to go, but couldn’t, if the train comes around again, I would highly suggest clearing your calendar and jumping on!!! A special thanks to hair and make up, as well as the phenomenal models Kara, Nicole, and Justin Marantz and “The award winning” Mary Marantz of Justin Marantz Photography http://www.imagine-imaging.com/ who took time out from being photographers, to let us take shots of them! The first image here is my favorite of mine from the day, but it would not of been possible without the help of Kiva from http://www.annandalephotography.com/ who saw the shot I was going for and gladly handed over his own lens to help me achieve it!!! Thanks Kiva! So here’s what I got out of the day and I hope I did enough name dropping!!!
