Jesse and Charlotte; Engagement, Central Park, Manhattan, NYC

I know I shouldn’t, but I can’t help but start this post off with a small note on how much I adore my clients.  Often times I don’t meet my clients until their engagement session.  Sometimes we meet prior too, but most times we have been in contact over the phone and primarily email.  So when I meet them for the first time I know a lot about them, logistically speaking, but only on paper.  The engagement session is the first opportunity I have to really get to know them each as people and begin to understand the dynamics of their relationship.  I believe in investing in my clients, and I have found, through making that concept the foundation of my business, I get a lot of referrals from over joyed clients.  These clients tell their friends about me, and my next experience gets to be with 2 more people that I click with just as much as the last two!!!!  So in theory, my clients find my clients for me, and as long as I continue to invest in my clients, every time, I will continue to have this amazing experience over and over again….

Alright blah blah blah, I know.  Most of you have already clicked the button for the slideshow and don’t even know what I’m talking about!  For everyone else, here is a bit of background info on Jesse and Charlotte.

Charlotte was referered to my from a past client I have at the NHL in NYC.  Being as she lives in Jersey we weren’t able to meet prior to booking, so it was a little bit of a leap of faith on her part!  We’ve conversed quite a bit over the last several months trying to nail down this session.  It was a bit tough because Jesse is quite the world traveler and really isn’t in the US very often at all.  After MUCH rescheduling, we finally picked this July day in NYC, which happens to be 2 weeks from their wedding day. Yes, that is cutting it close for me, but the engagement session is more about getting to know one another than anything else, and I always want to do that prior to a wedding to give my clients my full potential.  You would be surprised how much of this job really is mental.  At any rate, Joe and I met Jesse and Charlotte on the corner of 72nd and Central Park West in Manhattan.  As soon as I laid eyes on them both I knew I was going to love them.  They are so sweet together.  Jesse is quite the charmer, and just being around him, you know he is that guy in the crowd that all the ladies want to be around, if for no other reason, because he is sweet as pie!!!  My favorite thing about Charllote right off the bat was that I could tell she was easy going.  Here she is meeting Joe and I to do a photo shoot in Manhattan, and the skies open and unleash.  Does she panic, nope! We dipped into a little hole in the wall restaurant and chatted about all of their amazing wedding details.  Fast forward an hour or 2, and we started their session.  I could tell immediately how into each other they both are.  They have a really wonderful chemistry between them and I just love the way Charlotte looks at Jesse in these pictures!  They don’t get to spend a whole lot of time together right now with not being a US citizen yet, and being such a globe traveler….

Point of this long story is…..every time I think I have met my profile of a “perfect client” and someone who really clicks with my personality, the next experience takes it up a notch! I love Jesse and Charlotte and can’t wait to shoot their Long Island wedding in August.  The photo booth will be completely off the hook I’m sure, and I’m hoping one of the groom’s men will stencil “Papa Bear” across the back of Jesse’s tux!

Thanks for a great afternoon guys!  Joe and I really had a blast!
