So as most of you know a few weeks ago I was able to participate in a photography conference in New Orleans. Yes, for those of you thinking it, I have enjoyed New Orleans quite a bit over the last few months! I’d go back tomorrow….if Joe would let me….but that’s a whole ‘nother post
At any rate, this conference was mostly about self assessment, setting personal goals, challenging your self, and of course inspiration!!!! Check, Check, Check, and…CHECK!
One of my favorite parts of all of these conferences is….networking. Come on people everyone does it. Whether it is through social networking sites, school systems, work, or church, we all do it. I think I could network for a living….what can I say, I’m a social butterfly and I LOVE people! At any rate, I wanted to share with you just some of the images I took while I was there…nothing crazy going on here….just wanting to share what I’m doing….
The first images are from a shooting workshop I attended by Chelsea Nicole. She is a phenomenal photographer out of Las Vegas and offers an edginess to her photography that I adore. These are a few of the shots that I took while listening to Chelsea give us some of her best tips how to achieve her look and comfort level with her clients.
From here I was able to hang out with the amazing and ever so talented Miss Carla Ten Eyck!!! Not only am I a huge fan of this girl, but I am so lucky to call her my friend!! Her photography is insane and her energy is infectious! She was teaching a workshop as well and wasn’t able to stop shooting once the workshop was over. So..I got to once again be schooled by Carla (who loves to teach BTW). We traipsed all of the French Quarter and took pictures of our entourage…First on deck is the ever so amazing Paul & Krystal McNerney of Studio Foto. These two happen to be two of my closest friends and also did an amazing photo shoot of Joe and I over the summer. If you’d like to check those out you can check my album on face book or check The Studio Foto blog for a blog post during the off season….They recently got married on 10-10-10 and were continuing with all of that awesome loveliness-n-stuff they have going on. Check out Krystal’s vintage wedding dress….she’s a pimp….
While we were in New Orleans we hit up the bar called the Old Absinthe House a few times……WHAT…the atmosphere was so much fun (P.S. they make the BEST hurricane in the French Quarter…yes better than Pat O’Brien’s)
WHO DAT???This fool is Max…part of Carla’s entourage, and pretty much the coolest “Youngster” I know….yeah he’s not so hard on the eyes either huh? I learned it’s never long before this guy’s got his shirt off….and why not? If I had abs like that I’d never wear a shirt…LOL…Just kidding……
This pic literally makes me laugh out loud…..Meet Josh…..the second half of the ever talented duo of Candace Jeffrey Photography. I have been able to get to know Candace and Josh over the last year or so and again… I am soooo lucky to be able to call then friends! So they had this really cool lens that I LOVE (16-35mm). Yes I know, it’s lame. Not many photographers think this is an awesome lens. They’re so into their 1.2′s and 1.4′s……truth be told…I have them. And they ARE cool…but this lens has been on my MUST have list for about a year now (right along with a nice fish eye). Candace and Josh were nice enough to let me play with this bad boy for a while. I love the way it shows you the “PER-IPH-ER-ALS” (40 Year Old Virgin reference here). Anyhow…this is a pic I took of Josh. Did I mention I love this dude? One of my favorite people on the planet! (I know the list just gets LOOOOOOOONGER….)
This guy just wants to be famous….and I’m just doing my part to make his wish come true
I totally see the resemblance!!!!!!
All in all Partner Con completely blew my mind. It was so awesome to be energized, challenged, and inspired. I made a ton of new friends and got to spend some much needed quality time with a few choice friends I have. A big fat thank you to Pictage for bringing together so many powerful people. I certainly will not miss the next one!
See…there was no reason for Joe to be jealous of me going to New Orleans…WORK WORK WORK!
