I have to say that it has been so exciting being up to my neck in work over the last few weeks. Thank goodness all of my clients are so understanding! I’d love to see my family a bit more than I do, but the exhilaration at each of my weddings this year has been priceless. I love the bonds and friendships I am forming and it really has been a blast!
Nashira & Chris of course are no exception!!!! They were married on July 4th and their day was filled with friends, family, and a ton of emotion. Below are the details for those of you who would like to know her vendor information:
Wedding Planner: Tres Chic
Make-up: Make up by Naomi
Dress: Chevy Chase Bridal
Flowers: Flowers By Danielle
Ceremony & Reception: The Woodwinds
DJ: Franky and The Untouchables
Videographer: Laird Productions
I would like to once again thank the fabulous Rebecca Hales of Hales Studios for 2nd shooting with me!
I would also like to thank Nashira & Chris for having us photograph their wedding. It really was a pleasure!
The day of course began with getting ready. This is always an exciting time cause there is lots going on. Laughter, preparation, and anticipation!

Here Nashira is getting the back of her dress all buttoned up. I loved this shot because it is her mother, her cousin, and her god mother. I thought it was really sweet of Nashira to make sure everyone was included in some way. Joe grabbed the shot on the right and I just LOVE it!

This is always one of my favorite moments of the day. When the bride is having all of the finishing touches done to her dress, but I can see in her eyes she is somewhere else. Again with all of that anticipation!!!!! Nashira brings this full circle with how beautiful she is!

Below is a grouping of shots that Rebecca got while covering the guys. It has been amazing this year to have such great consistent coverage!!!!! Rebecca and I are beginning to get a great flow between us and she has been a serious addition to team BTL!!!!

I also loved this moment between Nashira and her father. They are very close and he came back from preparation with the guys so that he could drive her to the ceremony….just the two of them….

I love how much pride Nashira’s father has in his eyes right here, and how Nashira is only concentrating on Chris…..two completely different milestone moments in someone’s life and happening at the same time. As Nashira came down the isle I was very close to Chris’s father and I heard him telling Chris’s mother how unbelievably lucky Chris was to have such a beautiful wife! I thought it was very touching! She really did take your breath away though!!!!

Here are some great detail shots that Rebecca got while I was beginning portraits with Nashira & Chris

And the shot below is courtesy of Mr. Joe Fuller on drums! I love the way the light is here and how Nashira is just glowing!

And here we get some sweet buttery light to play in for about 3 minutes right before they are announced to their guests!

Here Nashira’s sorority sisters are performing what is called “The Sweet Heart Serinade” where they form a circle around her and sing a sweet song about how she was their sister first and she always will be. This moment belonged completely to Nashira. As all eyes were one her and you could tell she was taking in the moment, she began to mouth the words to one of her sorority sisters “You are so beautiful”. Tears were welling up in my eyes as I thought of how amazing it was that Nashira still thinks of everyone else even when it’s appropriate to be selfish!

Here the ladies from the bridal party get down….

Another beautiful moment caught here. Chris’s father is a man of few words, but he didn’t have to say a whole lot here for you to know he is beaming with pride.

Being as it was 4th of July, Nashira & Chris wanted to do something fun for their guests, so they did their cake cutting outside with sparklers. This is also a really good example of how Rebecca and I shoot together, but different from one another. The first 4 here are mine……..

And then this one is Rebecca’s….I love how she got to play with the light. She also got a few other awesome ones that I’m sure you’ll be able to see on her blog!

As the night wound down Nashira and Chris made time for one more dance…..
