Last year a friend of mine Claire (whom I had meet at a wedding I shot) came to me and asked if I would entertain the idea of shooting a wedding for her very (VERY) good friend. You might even call Sam her best friend…or “Soul mate” as they like to call each other! Through a few phone conversations between Sam and I we worked out the details and so began the journey of planning their wedding. During that time Joe and I have gotten to know Sam and Joe little by little through our encounters. From their freezing cold engagement session in Cornwall and Kent, to just hanging out and having drinks. These two are very much in love and always the life of the party…..are there two better traits to have? Seriously? As time grew on, they have became clients turned friends and even though the reason for our paths crossing has passed, I know their season in our lives will stay for a very long time. Their wedding definitely became one of those ones where you now have friends who are also photographers…..if you know what I mean!
They were married this past Saturday and there could not of been a better day to be married in April. The most amazing light in the world and not a cloud in the sky!!!! The ceremony and reception were at The Candlewood Inn, in Brookfield, CT. The flowers were from Floral Designs By Nancy, the AMAZING details were all done by Sam Edelmann, and the entertainment was provided by Sean McKee of James Daniel. The day was filled with tons of tears, and even more rocking details, but I’ll let the pictures tell thier story! Assisting me on this one was none other than Miss Rebecca Hales of Hales Studio, and Mr. Joe Fuller! Be sure to check out Rebecca’s work. She is amazing, and I have totally lucked out to be able to work with someone so talented and so much FUN!

I am going to go ahead and say that I got a bit carried away with the details of this wedding….but Sam and Joe put so much thought into their details, and it was so much of their personalities. Plus, well she asked me to make sure I got lots of shots of the details, so team BTL had no problem to oblige!

How awesome is it that Sam and Joe have the common theme of tattoos through all of their details and that they actually share the same “love bird” tattoo!!!

One of my favorite shots from the day. I love all of the joy on Sam’s face here!

I loved all of these shots of Sam from her portrait session. Not just because she is so beautiful, but because she has so many different personalities. She is sweet, and seductive, and charming, and funny, and coy all at the same time and obviously all within a few frames!

I grabbed this shot on my way out to wait for Sam to come down the isle. This guy was all ready to make his big debut and be a ring bearer……

Then excitement, turned into fear, which quickly turned into “
Peace out!”

But…the show must go on!!!

Here is Joe after he got his first glimpse of Sam at the end of the isle with her father.

Here is Joe’s shot (My Joe) of Joe waiting….

This one is Joe’s from the ceremony. Loved this perspective!

The shot on the left is one of my favorites of Sam. I love the way she is looking into Joe’s eyes!

This is Joe’s shot and I have to say it is one of my favorites from him EVER. There is just something about it that is awesome. And I love how Joe and I shoot so differently too!

This is also Joe’s shot and another one of my favorites!

These next two shots are hysterical….as Joe and Sam are singing “Living on a Prayer” to one another…….it was so cute!

This is Claire and Sam dancing…which they did all night….

This is the cake topper that Sam had made that is a replica of the love birds tattoo that Sam and Joe both have. I thought it appropriate for their ring shot!
